CRISIS INTERVENTION WORKERS ON FULL TIME NIGHTS, PART-TIME AND CASUAL BASIS . :

Qualifications:

·         ability to be available for nights, evenings, days and/or weekends:

·         Training and/or experience with victims of domestic violence, child care, counselling techniques, & child development , Minimum of 1000 hours training/experience. Applied counselling certificate or equivalent. an asset

·         Knowledge of community resources , Aboriginal Culture

·         Assets: First Aid , CPR, accreditation in child care, Valid Driver's License, fluency in Cree

CHILD SUPPORT COUNSELLOR – Qualifications as above, but primarily week day shifts - . ECE or applied counselling cerifcate preferred.

SUMMER STUDENT AND YOUTH POSITIONS:

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR THE PAS COMMITTEE FOR WOMEN IN CRISIS INC. (Aurora House and My Sister’s House)

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the operations of agency’s services according to the planned direction of the Board of Directors and in accordance with all associated agreements, protocols, policies, regulations and by-laws.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads and supervises Aurora House employees and ensures that proper accountability measures are in place

Maintains knowledge of best practices in the field of counselling, family violence and general management. Client related duties and Shift coverage may be required .

Ensures the organization has the structure, processes and tools , including technology and shelter equipment , in place to accomplish its work

Prepares, implements and monitors the operational plan and budget and ensures the consistent implementation of financial procedures within the organization

Maintains a positive profile in the community with service networks and community donors m including speaking engagements and social media

Ensures a robust network of support is available to the shelter residents

Works collaboratively with the Family Violence Prevention Program, Manitoba Family Services, Manitoba Association of Women’s Shelters, educational institutions and others to support strategic development in the field

QUALIFICATIONS

A degree in social services or a relevant discipline and/or management experience

A thorough knowledge of issues affecting Indigenous women and children, a passion to address gender based violence, knowledge of addictions and mental health issues

A satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check

Knowledge of Collective Agreements and working in a unionized environment
